Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. CBT, or cognitive behaviour therrapy, can teach skills to help manage the negative, bothersome thoughts that are associated with anxiety and depression and encouraging you to try new ways of dealing with situations that bring distress.
Some people experience uncomfortable emotions. These emotions can lead to impulsive, sometimes harmful behaviour. Together, we can learn how to manage these emotions by learning emotion regulation skills and distress tolerance skills to help you feel more in control of your emotions and reactions. These skills are based in DBT or Dialectic Behaviour Therapy.
Sometimes you just need help looking at a problem from a different perspective. Counselling can help by teaching you different ways to look at a situation and how to engage problem solving skills that can be applied to all aspects of your life.
